Mark Scappaticcio
Hello,
My name is Mark "Scapp" Scappaticcio. I currently live in Central Florida. I drag race a 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa sponsored by APE, Speedhaus of Longwood Fl, JTNORTON.COM Photography and RS Print co.com in the NHRA Division 2 points series, at Orlando Speedworld Dragway.
I started riding dirt bikes with my cousins when I was pretty young. I could never stay away from motorcycles after that. I tried my hand at motocross during high school but never really got serious in it. I started getting involved with drag racing in the early 90s, when my cousin was racing a Top Fuel Funny Bike and I was able to help out on his crew. I got my first street bike in the mid 90s and started drag racing at Atco and Englishtown Raceway Park. I never got into competitive racing back then, it was just for fun with friends and family. I got away from the motorcycle world for a few years do to life changes.
I met my fiancee in 07 and not long after that I got another bike. We started meeting different people with motorcycles and then we started going to the drag strip to watch the races. In 2010 I finally zipped on the leathers and lined up. I have not looked back since. In 2011, I raced in the NHRA Division 2 points series at Orlando Speedworld Dragway in Bithlo, Fl. I ended up finishing 3rd overall in the points for my track in pro cycle, and got invited to the Division 2 finals in Ga. as a team member for Orlando Speedworld Dragway. The season was great but I could not have done it without my sponsors and my family supporting me all the way.
I look forward to the 2012 season and I am proud to say all of my sponsors have returned to support me in the up coming race season.
